Your Cat’s Cattery stay; get ready with Beaphar

While you’re on holiday, putting your cat into a cattery is a great option to ensure they are safe and well looked after. To help your cat enjoy their downtime in the cattery it’s a good idea to prepare a cattery-care kit for them. Such as:

Before you go away

To help your cat settle in as quickly as possible, the cattery will need to know as much information as possible about them. Use the Beaphar Cattery Checklist to make sure you're prepared:

Create an information pack for your pet, including information such as:

  • Your cat’s personality and little quirks
  • Their food or any dietary requirements
  • The last time they had their flea or worm treatment
  • Their vaccination status
  • Veterinary contact details
  • Any relevant medical history or medication required while you’re away
  • Pet insurance details
  • The address of where you’re staying and a contact number
  • Emergency contact details, other than yourself

Leave the cat carrier out in the house with a blanket or their favourite toy inside. You could also feed them one of their meals in the carrier, to help them form a relaxed and positive association with being in there.

Use the Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Spray inside your cat's carrier. Each application lasts up to five hours, but be sure to never use the spray while your cat is inside the carrier.

If your cat is on any medication, make sure they have enough to last while you’re away.

The day you leave

Apply one Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Spot-On to your cat, and use the Beaphar CatComfort® Calming Spray on your cat’s blanket and cat carrier.

Cats often don’t like change and can find it very stressful when we are packing to go away. This will help them feel reassured while you're packing you own things, and provide continuous calming for them on the way to and during their stay at the cattery.
