This pet behaviour spray contains citronella oil, a substance that cats and dogs find unpleasant, helping to discourage pet scratching or stop pets chewing. Suitable for use on a range of household items, including household furnishings, woodwork, doors, curtains, baskets, carpets, rugs, slippers, Beaphar STOP IT Spray is ideal for helping to protect furniture from pets. It is especially popular with owners of young kittens or puppies, who need additional help in training their pet to leave a specific item alone. Repeated spraying on the target area is required every two to three days until your pet has learned to leave the desired item alone, and should be backed up by verbal commands. Unwanted behaviour is not always related to training; there are many reasons why cats and dogs scratch or chew. It is important to address and treat the underlying cause of the destructive behaviour, not just the behaviour itself. Behavioural problems can often arise due to age and development, change in the environment, stress, illness or incorrect diet. If you are unsure what is causing your pet’s behaviour, speak to your vet.
Instructions
ALWAYS FULLY READ THE PRODUCT LABEL BEFORE USE. Before use, test on an inconspicuous area for colour fastness. Simply spray the area to be protected from a distance of 15–20cm. When your pet comes into contact with the treated area, they will find the smell and taste unpleasant, deterring them from returning. It is important to continue to use verbal commands to reprimand the unwanted chewing or scratching until the bad habit is broken. Repeat applications may be made after 2 – 3 days as necessary.
